LAYOUT ATTRIBUTIONS
A good gymnasium will hold allocated space for warm-up/cool-down, free weight, circuit training and cardiovascular activities. Each of these activities should be designed around the necessary equipment providing sufficient space for usage. Our planning will also take durability of the flooring, flexibility of the available space and acoustical control into consideration. Our design and planning objective for an ideal gymnasium will take the following parameters into consideration:
Functional parameters:
- Spatial layout for equipment and exercise activities: For a spatial layout the minimum ceiling height required is 12' which is necessary for daily equipment usage. Space should also be able to accommodate other athletic activities like cushioned training surfaces, mirror panels, and impact-resistant walls. We run through the whole layout using a flow diagram before the design process is initiated.
- Structure and finishing: We ensure that increased structural steel is used to reduce vibration transmission. The weight rooms and exercise areas are designed for a 150 LB/SF live load. The finishing provided will be highly durable and easy to maintain.
- Acoustical Control: We include noise baffles to reduce noise impact generated by physical activity especially in weight areas.
- Sustainability: Special HAVC is employed to control the moisture and odor. We also provide additional AHU(Air Handling Unit) for exercise areas.
